We have a rule in our house – no Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Seems like a small rule, but you’ve got to keep that holiday from creepin’! However, I broke our rule when I listened the new Christmas cd “Sunny Christmas” by the kindie pair Renee & Jeremy yesterday. Twice.
This little wisp of a cd (only 6 songs) is a slice of sweet, soothing heaven – filled with lovely harmonies, and sung in a range that kids of all ages can sing along with and really get into the holiday spirit (Ok, I’m talking about me, a non-singer. Singing along with this cd makes me sound so good!) The songs are the expected ones, including “Deck the Halls” and “Jingle Bells” but they are handcrafted so well that you can’t help but want to drop everything cuddle up in front of a fire. There is also an original song “Sunny Christmas” which is a bright and cheery tune, though my tweens’ money is on it showing up in a Target ad sometime soon.
Oh, and yes, my tweens listened to it the third time around. So much for our Christmas music rule. On that note though, the tweens gave the cd two thumbs up, so it’s got the whole family seal of approval.

Happy Holidays! Jenna
