All this month, I am going to be reviewing cool places to travel both far and near. The following piece falls into the “far” category, that is unless you live in Cypress. But in case you don’t add it to your bucket list as it looks Fabulous!!!
When it comes to last minute holidays, and seeking somewhere that offers sun and fun for all the family, then Cyprus fits the bill perfectly. So what is there to do while you’re staying on the island? But what can you do to keep a young family occupied for hours at a time? Here are a few ideas.
Dinosaurs Park, Ayia Napa
You can’t really go wrong with dinosaurs as far as children are concerned. At the Dinosaurs Park, Agia Napa (off Leoforos Nissi) there are dinosaurs that both move and make noises! There’s also a souvenir shop, as well as a snack bar.
Archimedes Museum, Limassol
Limassol’s Archimedes Museum is a science museum that goes out of way to make science interesting to visitors of all ages. There’s no less than 21 interactive exhibits here, including the opportunity to operate a submarine.

Camel Park, Larnaka
At this camel park in Mazotos Village in the Larnaka district you can actually ride a camel! There’s also smaller animals to see in the park, including horses and donkeys, which visitors are allowed to feed.
Athalassa National Forest Park
On Nicosia’s outskirts is the National Forest Park. In the park are hundreds of different types of flora, from trees to shrubs, together with a lake that is the home for some of the island’s ducks. In addition, there’s a picturesque picnic and play area. The park is open at all times of the year, though visitors in the summer are advised to visit the park during the cooler parts of the day.
Adventure Mini Golf, Pafos
Adventure Mini Golf can be found at Island Cove, and it is a course that consists of 18 holes. It’s a course that’s aimed at adults and children alike, while the attractive nature of the course can soften the blow after a particularly poor stroke! Opening times during the summer are from 10am to 11pm, and in the winter from 9.30am to 6pm.
Aphrodite Water Park, Pafos
Named after the legendary Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite Water Park offers a selection of thrilling rides, such as white water raft rides that all the family (including mum and dad) can experience.
Last minute holidays to Cyprus are great for families with young children that want to go somewhere warm, dry and have an adventure along the way. If you’ve been to Cyrpus before, what activities would you recommend? Let us know in the comments.
