Easy to Make Easter Crafts: Easter is this Sunday, which is great except for the fact that it’s SNOWING here in Chicago which is exactly the opposite of what I think about when it comes to Easter.
What I do think about is crafts, Easter Crafts to be exact because that’s what we used to do when we were young. Dye eggs, weave baskets, bake cookies. This year Easter coincides with Passover so the whole “cookie thing” is out, but JRB and I are still into dying eggs, making baskets and writing notes for the elusive Easter Bunny. I love this time with JRB, because it is so fun to see how his interest in creating has changed over the years as his ideas become more complex and introspective (at least for an 8 year old). I don’t think I ever questioned what eggs and bunnies have to do with Jesus, but I am glad Jackson did as it gave us a chance to look up what Easter means culturally and religiously. We also have had our fair share of laughs as we continue our quest to make a library of eggs with beloved old books. To get some ideas to spark your imagination check out my clip on ABC 7 News in Chicago, who just happen to be amazing and lovely to work with. Happy Easter Everyone!
And if you are local to Chicago and are looking for a good brunch spot I highly recommend one of my favorite places, Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Lincolnshire. They are hosting a brunch on Sunday from 11-2. I love the food at Sullivan’s and the lovely atmosphere and at $32/per person this 3-course meal is a deal. Menu items include lobster bisque, eggs benedict, lamb chops, cheesecake and more. To find out more / make a reservation call 847-883-0311 or visit Sullivan’s Steakhouse.
